Managing Partner


Bill West

Managing Partner
Mr. West has held the positions of President, COO and board member at Carolina Phone, Dial Page, Solo America and USTelecenters and held a number of senior management positions at AT&T. He has served on the boards of Dataflux, Latin Broadband Group, Readycom, QSI and Unified Signal among others. He is currently Chairman and CEO of Ellipsis Technologies, Chairman of Top Cellar,  Managing Director of Fort Bertholdt Water in Williston, ND and Managing Director of  Watford City Disposal Partners in Watford City, ND.  Additionally, Mr. West  is on the Board of Directors of Hincapie Sports as well as the Advisory boards of Citadel Energy Partners in Los Angeles, Black Box Magazine and the Clemson MBA Program.  Bill also serves  on the Board of Directors of the non-profit Bike and Build and is Vice-Chairman of the Greenville Zoo Foundation.

Joe McKeown

Mr. McKeown has held senior leadership positions in companies ranging from the Fortune 100 to start-up entrepreneurial ventures. His most recent experience was in the government public safety sector, serving as President/COO and Interim CEO for an underperforming software company. This followed a 18+ year senior level career at MCI Telecommunications where he led global sales, communications, public affairs, employee engagement, sponsorship and marketing campaigns and initiatives. While there he consolidated the global event marketing and sponsorship programs, saving over $100M. Prior to MCI he had various sales and sales management roles for AT&T where he was among the top producers of an 8,000 person sales force for two years running. Joe currently is Vice President of ReCellular, Inc, a leading re-commerce company in Ann Arbor, MI and on the Board of Advisors for New York based Madison Performance Group, a top provider of award wining technologically advanced employee engagement and sales performance improvement solutions. He holds SPHR and APR certifications and is finalizing his Masters in Political Communications from George Washington University in Washington, DC.

Neil Vasant

Neil Vasant advises TAP on key sectors and on financing and exit strategies for our portfolio companies. Neil was a Founding General Partner at Lucent Venture Partners, an early-to-midstage venture capital firm, where he made investments in the Communications/Infrastructure and Software sectors. Two of his investments resulted in exits of over $1B each and three others over $100M each, all through M&A by large Public companies, including NewPort Semiconductor (acquired by Broadcom), Octane Software (acquired by e.piphany/IBM), ConvergeNet (acquired by Dell), Philsar Electronics (acquired by Conexant) and most recently, America Fiber Systems which agreed to merge with the Zayo Group. Neil was also CEO and Company Director of Mysticom Pvt Ltd Israel, which he turned around and sold to Transwitch Corporation, a Public company. Neil recently completed a CEO assignment with a TAP portfolio company where he was instrumental in obtaining an LOI for its acquisition by a major International sector leader. Neil is currently a Company Director of a stealth-stage, Canadian startup in the Medical Instruments sector.

Naiden Kremenliev

Naiden has over 17 years of diversified financial management experience. He has more than 8 years of investment banking experience with First Union Capital Markets, Interstate/Johnson Lane (Wachovia Securities) and Brookwood Associates, a mergers and acquisitions advisory firm. Naiden also served for more than 8 years as Chief Financial Officer for a diverse textile and apparel manufacturing organization with more than $175 million in revenues, manufacturing locations in five states and more than 1,500 employees. Naiden received his A.B. degree in Economics from Princeton University.

David Abraham

Mr. Abraham developed and has run DAC Media Capital, an independent advisory firm to middle-market media and telecommunications companies. Over the last 24 years, DACMC completed over $800 million in various transactions. He has taken a senior operating role in various client companies, spearheading improved administrative processes, turn-around management and growth initiatives. He is currently on the Board of Natural Chemistry, Inc., and previously served on the boards of STC Cable Partners, American Film Technologies Inc. and Geothermal Management Services, LLC. He holds a BS and Masters of Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, as well as an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business.


Michael West

Portfolio Advisor

Mr. West is currently in Corporate Development at Itochu International focused on oil and gas and advises TAP on governance and financial issues.  Prior to Itochu he was an Associate at Oppenheimer & Co., a New York based Investment Bank, where he focused on advising and capital raising for growing energy, healthcare and technology companies. He has been a Consultant at Emerging Asia Group, where he advised European and US clients on their Asia market strategy, and led initial development of an online deal-making platform.  Mike has also been the  Managing Partner and  Co-Founder of TerraWatt Power Solutions in Denver, Colorado.  He received his B.A. in East Asian Studies from Middlebury College.

Owen Brown

Operating Executive
Mr. Brown was the President, COO, Board Member and a member of the founding team of Sun Microsystems. He has been the Managing Partner of Technology Strategies and Alliances, a Silicon Valley investment-banking firm and has served on the board of a number of high technology firms nationwide as well as the publicly traded Bridge Holding Company and Bridge Bank. Mr. Brown is a navy veteran with five commands and is very active at Auburn University with both academic and athletic development.

Jeff Donahue

Mr. Donahue has spent over 30 years as a senior level principal and CEO in a variety of cable, equipment and telecommunications businesses. He has been CEO of UCT Coatings, CEO of EGT Communications, an Executive Level Consultant with FairPoint Communications, Senior Vice President for North American Sales of Verso Technologies, Senior Vice President for Sales and Field Operations of TelCove/Level 3, Vice President of Adelphia Business Solutions, Vice President of Dial Page/Dial Call and President/Owner of Donahue Brother’s, Inc. He is particularly effective in the management of turn around opportunities, improving profitability and increasing shareholder return and was a founding member of The Atlantic Partners.


David Harrington

Mr. Harrington has 25 years of corporate finance, entrepreneurial and executive management experience. He has been a Managing Director at GE Capital where he funded $1.5 billion of debt and equity co-investments in middle market companies. He was a Co-founder, CFO and board member of Grapevine Communications, a private equity-backed broadcast TV group operator. He founded and operated a successful investment banking concern and was a Senior Vice President at Barclays. As an investment principal, financial advisor, and entrepreneur, Mr. Harrington has successfully fulfilled a variety of financial, operational, and strategic initiatives and closed on numerous mergers, acquisitions, and exit events.

Murray Cook

Operating Executive
Mr. Cook has held positions of CEO, President, COO, COB and board member at Migration Software, eBoomerang, Foliofn, Nomadic Collaboration (NMDB) and Aegis Research . He has held a number of senior management positions at Stanford Telecommunications, Digital Equipment Corporation and GTE. Additionally he has served on the advisory boards of Mantech International (MANT-Nasdaq), Mindsim, International Health, and Azora Technologies among others. His is an executive coach and advisory to companies ranging in size from early startup to Global 500 companies. He is currently on the BOD of Foliofn.

Cathy Hong-Praslick

Operating Executive
Ms. Hong-Praslick has 15 years of experience in research, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital at Fortune 500 and start up companies. Most recently she was a partner with CVP Ventures, where she focused on new media deals, and managed acquisition activities. She held venture and board roles at Alliance Technology Ventures and at UPS’ corporate venture group, the Strategic Enterprise Fund, where she focused on media and telecommunications deals, and logistics and wireless infrastructure deals respectively. She served in strategy and mergers and acquisitions roles at TSYS and has been a venture consultant to Turner Broadcasting, First Sports International, Wireless Generation, and LogiGear among others. She is currently on the board of directors at Beautystreams.

Ken Campbell

Operating Executive
Mr. Campbell is a channel sales and marketing executive with over 30 years experience in start-ups and restructures as VP of Sales, COO and CEO. He began his career in the retail auto industry in a variety of roles including General Manager of a multi-line GM franchise. In Silicon Valley, Mr. Campbell was on the start-up team of Businessland, a pioneer in sales of personal computers , Co-founded USTeleCenters, USWEB, a premier F2000 web-consulting firm and founded Centegy Corp., a supply-chain software integrator. Successful reorganizations of CopyMat Corp, Inmac Corp, WAGIC Inc and Dedicated Devices Inc. Mr. Campbell also served on the Board of Directors of RHDonnelley a leading yellow pages publisher. Recently Mr. Campbell’s focus is on mentoring CEO’s of start-ups with emphasis on go-to-market strategies.

Patrick T. Markey

Mr. Markey is known for his 25 years of progressive marketing, sales and operations management experience. He has an extensive background in senior management, including technical operations, direct sales, strategic planning, and alternate channels of distribution. He has served as President of Airadigm Communications and COO of Solo America. He has served as Vice President and company officer for MetroPCS, PNI, Dial Page and has managed and directed key cities for TelCove/Adelphia Business Solutions. Additionally, he has been proactive in many industry associations and forums including participation as a key member of PCIA’s Public Relations Committee and past President of the wireless industries GSM Alliance.

Brian Bunch

Operating Executive
Mr. Bunch has more than 20 years of experience building sales channels, designing corporate strategy and launching businesses in various technology and service industries. He was the co-founder and Vice President of Business Development for RAZZ, where he sold its cutting edge product line to social networks and cellular companies worldwide. He was Vice President of Sales for MetroPCS prior to and through its commercial launch in the western region where he managed the business to $100M revenue in the first year. He has also served as Vice President and Director of Business Development, Sales and Marketing to various wireless and internet companies, including eVoice (acquired by AOL-Time Warner), Advanta (acquired by Philips Electronics), Philips Consumer Communications, and the THE Beeper Company of America (acquired by Arch Communications). Mr. Bunch is currently the Managing Partner of Tara Trask & Associates, a national full service litigation strategy, jury research and trial consulting practice. He is also an active investor and coach to various technology companies.

Bill Scully

Mr. Scully has nearly 25 years experience in delivering business solutions. Most of his focus has been involved with Telecom and IT applications. His career has been devoted to sales, marketing, and business development for both large enterprise corporations and start-up companies alike. He has used his business acumen to help implement processes and procedures into distressed organizations, and currently is the CEO of an early stage venture conducting business in Western Africa. Bill holds a BS in Engineering from the United States Military Academy, and a MBA in Marketing from American University.

David Turner

Operating Executive
Mr. Turner is a computer technology and operations professional with over 25 years of experience in information technology with a focus on emerging technologies and improving business practices. He has served as Vice President of Technology and Operations for NDCHealth and divisional CIO for Affiliated Computer Systems where he ran multiple service operations. He has served as consulting CIO for a large multinational audit recovery firm. He has an excellent understanding of information technology as applied to business processes with the ability to communicate internally and externally at all levels of an organization.

Liza Jones

Operating Executive
Ms. Jones has more than 11 years of strategic public relations experience in agency and corporate settings. She has experience managing PR for brands including Costa Del Mar sunglasses, Raymond James Financial Services, Comsquared Systems and more. Liza helps companies identify the right audience and how best to reach them, whether through media relations, event marketing, social networking or internal communications efforts.

Jeff Richards

Operating Executive
Jeff Richards has 25 years experience in information technology and finance, and has functioned as Vice President of Business Systems at World Access and most recently at Verso Technologies. He has also served as a Financial Controller and Sales Operations Controller. Industry experience includes Telecom Equipment, Software Development, Information Technology Equipment and Automotive across Manufacturing and Distribution. He is very strong in improvement of operations having implemented ERP and CRM systems throughout his career. Jeff is a former CPA with an MBA in Finance and Computer Information Systems from The University of Michigan.

Jim Crofts

Operating Executive
Mr. Crofts has spent the last 25 years as a senior level human resource executive in a wide variety of industries including retail, telecommunications and human resource outsourcing. He has extensive experience in all aspects of human resource management including benefit plan design/administration, employee relations, recruitment and policy design/implementation. He has conducted human resource compliance audits for and designed process documentation for multiple companies. He earned his SPHR certification in 1997.

Ken Southerland

Operating Executive
Ken brings over 20 years of experience as a Global Business Leader in technology industries, dynamic economic environments and diverse cultures spanning the globe from component source to product consumption.

Living in Singapore, Ken led the Asia Pacific region for ModusLink International, a billion dollar publicly traded global supply chain management solutions provider. In his most recent role as President and CEO of Insource Performance Solutions, Ken led the company’s financial turnaround and market repositioning. Insource provides performance priced labor solutions to manufacturing and distribution operations, and is positioned to achieve results through leading edge process engineering, employee incentive plans and process output accountability.

Ken graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Industrial Management after two successful years at the Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. He played football for The Citadel, for Bill Curry at Georgia Tech, and then for Don Shula of the Miami Dolphins during the preseason of 1985. He is a member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and the NFL Alumni association.
